Objective
Design a user-friendly interface for a sports betting app, with clear navigation and engaging flows.
My Role: UX/UI Designer – responsible for wireframes, a working interactive prototype in Figma, and final high-fidelity mockups for development handoff.
The Challenge
LeagueBet needed to quickly bring a sports betting app concept to life. The founders had a clear vision for functionality, but needed UX guidance to:
- Simplify user flows for placing and tracking bets
- Design an interface that new users could understand instantly
- Create a visual identity that aligned with their brand vision
The Process
Wireframes: Established the structure of the app, mapping flows for browsing bets, joining leagues, and tracking outcomes.
Prototype: Built a clickable Figma prototype to demonstrate navigation, interactions, and screen transitions. This gave the founders and developers a realistic preview of the user journey before coding began.
High-Fidelity Mockups: Delivered polished designs with consistent typography, accessible color contrast, and simplified navigation tabs.
The Solution
To address LeagueBet’s need for a clear and engaging user experience, I designed mockups that simplified the process into four intuitive steps:
1. Create or Join – Users can create their own league with flexible settings or join private/public leagues
2. Play – Clear instructions guide users to buy in with a small amount and receive a virtual bankroll.
3. Win – Leaderboards and bet-tracking allow players to see progress and compete for top spots.
4. Become a Better Bettor – Stats and insights help users track performance over time and improve decision-making.
Outcomes & Results
Turned Concept Into Prototype → Translated co-founders’ vision into a functional, testable betting app prototype that demonstrated the core product experience.
Simplified Complex Workflows → Re-designed multi-step betting flows into straightforward, WCAG-compliant journeys that were easier to navigate and understand.
Scalable Design System → Built a responsive Figma component library that standardized patterns and improved efficiency for future design and development.
Improved Team Alignment → Increased stakeholder meetings and set up Figma communication protocols, creating faster feedback loops and better decision-making transparency.

Reflection
This project taught me the importance of:
- Delivering high-quality designs quickly within a startup’s timeline
- Balancing usability with the client’s business goals
- Communicating clearly with founders who were not from a design background
Overall, this strengthened my ability to deliver user-driven design under tight timelines.
